Empoint’s application is designed and built to administer employee benefit programs from a centralized database utilizing varied access points. Our Internet based systems delivery allows clients to utilize a shared-services platform with multiple portals providing each TPA, agency, client, or member entity access to individualized data.

In November of 2005 Empoint is releasing a significant upgrade to our member user interface. This is the first step in our movement of all access portals to a rich internet user interface. Rich Internet Applications are designed to bring all the best elements of desktop application delivery to a web based application. Dramatic reductions in trips to the server and the accompanying page refreshes as well speed and responsiveness are just a few of the improvements our users will experience as a result of this project.

Above all Rich Internet Applications are about improving the user experience and pushing web based applications to the next level of decision support and transaction processing. Enhanced support for multi-media including support for video, audio and image streaming into the application are also in our plans to delivery a truly “rich” user experience.

In the second quarter of 2006 Empoint will release a similar rich internet application upgrade to the administrative portal.

Security

Empoint's security policy encompasses system access, data transmissions and system architecture. System access is limited to authenticated users. To further secure Empoint systems, profiles are used to define a user's access to information and, in some cases, limit access to specific sections of the application. Data transmissions are secured with industry standard SSL (secured socket layer) encryption to insure transmissions are accessible only to those for whom data was intended.

Requirements

Empoint requires a Windows or Mac OS/X computer in order to access its portals. A screen resolution of 1024 by 768 or higher is recommended. We support Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, FireFox, and Netscape 7 or higher. Certain features require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
